BCLFC ACADEMY TRIALS

Last chance to REGISTER for the Birmingham City Ladies Academy trial.

Birmingham City Ladies Academy (16-19yrs) are looking for the next star, and your opportunity is at Solihull College on Tuesday 18th July between 10am-3pm.

Birmingham City Ladies Academy is part of the club’s Elite Youth Development Programme that transitions players from our Regional Talent Club through to the First Team.

The programme offers a blend of football and education to help each player reach their full potential on and off the pitch.

Blues Ladies First Team player and England international Jess Carter is just one example after taking part in the programme three years ago and she believes it helped her transition into professional football.

“Solihull College offered me the chance to combine my studies with my passion for football,” said the 2016/17 PFA Young Player of the Year.

“The programme allowed me to continue my footballing journey alongside my education and I was able to train full time with exceptional players.

“The staff I worked with supported me throughout my time there and I believe my experience played a massive part in my transition to the First Team and international football.”

The programme offers full-time elite training and matches, as well as one-to-one coaching, injury treatment and nutrition training.

Players will also have the opportunity to train with the first team and also experience and understand what it takes to be a full-time professional

Away from football, all players at the Academy are able to study the full range of courses on offer at Solihull College and this includes a personal tutor to help students balance education with a full-time training programme.

University links, volunteering opportunities and the chance to gain further qualifications within football are also available.

“It’s a really exciting time at the Club, who continue to make big changes to ensure that we strive for excellence,” Technical Director Crissy Torkildsen said.

“The new and improved programme shows our aspirations and how we’ll continue to invest in our Youth Development Pathway through football and education.

“We are a club that prides ourselves in ‘producing our own’ and we offer invaluable experiences that will play a big part in every player's footballing journey.”
