We are delighted to announce that Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has joined the club from French club Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old, who was a runner-up in last season’s UEFA Champions League, as well as the French Feminine Division 1 in 2014/15 and 2015/16 will arrive in Birmingham with one of the highest reputations in European football.

Previous to joining PSG she spent three seasons with Turbine Potsdam winning numerous trophies including the Frauen Bundesliga as well as progressing through the German national team set up.

Berger’s performances this season, most notably in the UEFA Champions League campaign, against Barcelona and Lyon has further cemented her reputation with fantastic performances on the biggest stage.

Blues Ladies manager David Parker said: “To sign Paris Saint-Germain’s No.1 Goalkeeper says it all and we have had to work hard to prise her away from that fantastic Club and European giant.

"It is another signal of intent and statement that we can attract the very best players to the Club with the vision and strategy we have.

"When meeting Ann-Katrin and showing her everything we had to offer at the Club she was blown away by what we are developing here and wants to be part of this special journey we are embarking upon. She has achieved so much domestically in France and Germany and now with a new challenge she wants to experience this same success and journey in England."

On her move to Birmingham Berger said: “I’m really excited to play for Birmingham City Ladies. The young team, facilities, staff and vision convinced me to sign. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and I will give my best to help the team achieve our goals."
