REACTION: Blues Ladies 2 WBA Women 0

Marc Skinner’s discussed Blues Ladies' progression to the SSE FA Cup Quarter Final.

Marc Skinner’s thoughts on the performances of Blues Ladies’ three debutants Ellen White, player of the match Paige Williams and Sarah Mayling.

You could see why we have brought them to the Club. It was great to see Ellen get a goal which gets her up and running. She’s worked hard and is going to be a key player for us. She’s an England international with proven pedigree and we are delighted to have her on board.

Both Sarah and Paige produced some tremendous deliveries and gave us a threat on both flanks. They both put in an excellent shift and were always a threat to the opposition.

Marc Skinner on the prospect of reaching a Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Obviously we are two steps away from that – and that’s two potentially very difficult games as well – but we are extremely determined to reach the final.

I’ve got a fiercely determined set of players in that dressing room and aren’t entering any competition to make up the numbers.

I’m trying to change the mentality at this club somewhat. We have a tag of being the underdogs, but I don’t see it like that. We are not here to make up the numbers in any competition.

Marc Skinner on the team’s preparations for the Spring Series which starts next month.

We are in a good place. There’s plenty to work on still, of course, but I am pleased with what I am seeing. Our fitness is good and will get better and as our new faces settle in we will only improve.

We will work very hard this coming week on trying to improve things which were not so good today. Overall I am pleased.
