Marc Skinner was thrilled with how his players bounced back from Wembley disappointment...

Marc Skinner on the response to Cup Final defeat…

We asked them to start quickly and to show that they were hurt. The only way we know how to respond is to get back out on the field and play football. I think we showed a really good reaction to what happened at the weekend. We tired a little in the second half and Bristol have got a lot of quality. I know their group and their manager expect that from them. We had to dig in a little in the second period but we still showed the quality in glimpses that we could score a goal at any point. So it was a really good reaction, we’re pleased with it and now we’re going to move onto Saturday.

Marc Skinner on making changes to his line-up…

If you look at playing Arsenal on Saturday we have three games in seven days. That’s a lot for any squad to take. This is the Spring Series and it’s a great opportunity for me to see the young kids coming through and I trust them to perform. I’m pleased with some of the performance today and we’ve got to go and put in another on Saturday.

Marc Skinner on Ellen White’s two goals…

We can expect that from Ellen because she has so much quality in front of goal. We don’t always get to see that because people use the words of “hard working” to describe her but actually she’s a lot more than that. She’s a quality finisher and a quality goal scorer. She’s done us favours in the past few games by playing in the number 10 position to connect out lines but she’s an out and out forward. She’s that good a person and a player that she’s willing to do that for the team and she’s got her rewards by being in the right position tonight. I can see that only getting better by adding Rachel [Williams] to the quality of Charlie, Freida and Ellie Brazil as well. The support behind her will prove she’s a top goalscorer as well.

Marc Skinner on Rachel Williams return…

I hope to release the inner kid in Rachel because she’s a big child! She runs and plays the game like she’s ten years old and it adds a little verve and energy to the team. She’s got a fantastic ability to hold the ball up but once that ball goes into the box defender will be weary of her. If she’s arriving late, she’s going to take everything with her and she’ll score goals. She’ll add a lot of quality but a lot of personality and that cheekiness will only help to build our group ethos.

Marc Skinner on playing Arsenal next...

Arsenal will always be a tough challenge. Everybody in this league is tough but just in different ways. Technically Bristol were excellent and they move the ball really quickly. Arsenal will be different, a totally different game to the one in the FA Cup. They’ll come at us and try to score goals but I’m sure we will do the same so hopefully it’s an exciting one fot the fans to see too.
